Chief Operations Officer Role
In May 2017, Jubilee Pool Penzance Ltd ("JPPL"), a Community Benefit Society, took over operation of the Pool and Café on behalf of the Penzance community. The Pool employs a team of more than 30 full and part time staff across the Poolside operation and Café.
Jubilee Pool is now embarking on a very exciting project to heat part of the Pool using geothermal energy, which will provide Penzance with a year-round facility and visitor attraction.JPPL’s Board of Directors is looking to appoint a Chief Operations Officer to manage, market and develop the Pool and Café from April 2018, in conjunction with the geothermal project.
The successful candidate will have experience of:
Managing and delivering a leisure operation and/or visitor attraction (although not necessarily a sporting venue).
A track record of marketing and successfully developing the business of that operation/attraction.
Day to day duties will include:-
Management of Pool and Café staff (including recruitment)
Management of Pool & Café facilities (including maintenance/procurement/compliance )
Managing budgets and financial aspects
Event planning and marketing/developing the Pool/Café facilities - the Board wants the COO to develop a programme of events at the Pool/Café and build relationships with local pool and café users (such as schools, sports clubs, local societies etc.)
Reporting regularly to the Board of Directors
Seasonally weighted (as the Pool is outdoor and busy in the Summer) - but essentially 5 days a week with longer hours in the Summer, but balanced by shorter hours in the Winter.
